Academic Achievement Center will help do just that. Our summer enrichment programs can help accelerate your child’s academic pursuits, explore topics not covered in school, build confidence and competence and prepare him/her better for standardized tests where applicable. We believe education is a process not simply confined to the four walls of the classroom or limited to the academic year. Take a look at our offerings.

In the early grades reading is the primary concern for teachers, educators and parents. So the stress is on phonics, the sound-symbol relationship, and decoding. But the ultimate goal is comprehension. With that in view, for the K-6 child we provide a supportive environment in which children will join in spontaneous reading and reap such benefits as:
1. Gaining confidence in reading. “Listening to the adult voice and being included in the reading gives confidence that will grow into competence as youngsters gradually link the meaning with the printed word.” - Prue Goodwin of the University of Reading in England
2. Improving the ability to visualize words through reading. Good readers are better spellers!
3. Increasing fluency by reading text quickly and accurately. Fluency frees students to understand what they read thereby turning reading into an exciting and fun activity. Extensive reading would lead to command of the language.
By learning to read fluently, children at all levels not only build confidence, and spell well but get rid of “writer’s block” as well. For our part, we will reinforce confidence and competence and motivate them to write. We will teach the children the interaction of the subject, audience, purpose, and diction, the choice of words.
The choice of words distinguishes writers and speakers from others. That wouldn’t happen unless one has copious vocabulary. We will teach the children the methods of expanding vocabulary by:
1. Reading
2. Using the dictionary
3. Context clues
4. Word analysis
5. Turning recognition vocabulary into active vocabulary (the words they understand when they read or hear into words they can use to speak and write with confidence).
Grammar, Usage, and Mechanics are an integral part of our program for all grade levels. In fact, we believe so much in the primacy of grammar we offer an intensive summer program in grammar.
We offer conventional math and competitive math. With concept-based Singapore Math, we teach problem-solving and critical thinking skills, the very skills that will help later with SAT preparation.
Unlike national franchises that simply focus on test-taking strategies, our unique program combines composition and comprehension skills as well as time-management. The result: better SAT scores.
In addition, we offer one-on-one Subject Tutoring for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Calculus.
